Track star Leah Banks finishes seventh in South Alabama Invitational

Sophomore Leah Banks is making huge strides as she finished 7th overall at the South Alabama Invitational.

After the first day of competition, Banks racked up the 8th place spot. On day two, her production spiked as she scored nearly 2,000 more points to take the 7th spot, finishing with 4,507 total points.

She came in 6th place in the long jump with 5.36 meters. Banks had another season-high in the javelin throw with 30.99 meters.

Banks finished the 800 meter run with 2:34.02.

Banks, along with the Track and Field team, will compete in the SSAC Championships on April 21-22 in Mobile, Alabama.
