The Loyola track and field team finish in top 5 at the SSAC Championship meet, with the women finishing second overall and the men taking home fourth.
In women’s discus, the Wolf Pack swept, earning gold, silver, and bronze. Meghan Temple took first with 38.96 meters. Taylor Haggis and Anna Hugel finished second and third respectively.
Leah Banks took second in long jump and first in the 400 meter hurdles with 1:06.41. Banks is also headed to the NAIA National Championship with Diamond Pearson, Meri Herbert, Tiera Henderson for their second place finish in the 4×100 meter relay.
Jarrett Richard took third in the 100 meter dash with 10.79 and Malcom Pitchford secured second with his second place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with 57.16.
Several Loyola athletes will continue on their season at the NAIA National Championship on May 25-27.
