This illustration provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in January 2020 shows the 2019 Novel Coronavirus. Loyola will no longer require proof of vaccination to attend university events or use university facilities.

Alicia Bourque, the vice president of student affairs, said in an email that the Centers for Disease Control has changed the recommended isolation time for COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.

According to the email, people may go back to normal activities after testing positive for these illnesses, if their symptoms are gone after 24 hours.

If symptoms worsen or a fever begins after going back to normal activities, it is advised to restart the guidelines above. The email said that precautions were added by the CDC to decrease the risk of developing a respiratory virus.

All staff, faculty, and student workers must email [email protected] if tested positive for COVID-19, students that do not work for the university are not required to email.

Students can visit Student Health located on the lower level of the Danna Student Center, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. if they are experiencing symptoms, no appointment necessary.
