The Loyola men’s basketball team fell to No. 24 William Carey College 80-72 in their first home game since their road trip.
Play was rough throughout both halves of the game. The lead was neck-and-neck in the beginning until the Wolf Pack started to lose their edge.
Team leaders, business management senior Johnny Griffin Jr. and business senior Jalen Gray posted solid numbers. Their efforts however, were not enough to overcome the early deficit.
Griffin posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Gray had 13 points and four assists in the game.
The game was also the first home game for new recruit, business freshman Trey LaForge.
LaForge is a transfer student from Louisiana State University and now plays forward for Loyola. La Forge posted six points and two rebounds off the bench.
The Wolf Pack will take the court against Blue Mountain College on Jan. 21 at First NBC Court.
