After over a year of fighting for unionization, Loyola’s Sodexo workers have unionized, according to a union representative from UNITEHERE.

The contract was signed Monday, Feb. 5, and it offers Sodexo workers a raise of $1.75 this year with some of the lowest paid employees getting more than $4 raises, and scheduled annual pay. It also offers affordable healthcare with no deductibles, more paid time off, and a pension, the union representative from UNITEHERE said.

The UNITEHERE representative said with the new benefits, it makes life easier for the Sodexo workers.
